Real Life, Real Mess, and a Few Electrical Tips Sprinkled Along the Way
Hi there, and welcome! I’m so glad you found your way here.
I’m Kathleen — a wife to an electrical contractor, mom of two, and now, somehow, a blogger. I don’t have a perfect routine, spotless kitchen, or expert-level anything, but I do have stories, survival tips, and a whole lot of heart to share.
This blog is for the women who are married to the trades, juggling the mental load, and still trying to make it to bedtime without losing their minds.
Just a heads up:
Some of the links in this post are affiliate links. If you click and make a purchase, I may earn a small commission—at no extra cost to you. I only share things I truly use and love, and every little bit helps support this blog and our family. Thanks for being here!

What You’ll Find Here:
🔌 Non-expert but honest advice from someone living in the thick of it.
🏠 Home electrical tips that are safe, practical, and mom-approved.
🛒 Affiliate product recommendations for tools, household hacks, and mom life must-haves (yes, I may earn a small commission — thank you for supporting this space!)
💡 Life hacks for staying sane when your partner works long hours or the chaos of home and business collide.
Why I Started This
I started Plugged-In Wife because I needed a place to be real — not polished. A place where I could share what we’ve learned running a small trade business while raising a young family. I often look to blogs to feel connected to others and I want this to be that place for someone too.
This blog is a place where I can share what it’s really like to support a husband in the trades, raise kids while answering business calls, and try to hold it all together when the schedule (and the laundry) feels out of control. I’m not an expert — just a mom and wife doing her best, learning along the way, and hoping that something I share helps another woman feel a little less alone.
Thanks for being here.
Whether you’re looking for a tool that won’t drive you nuts, a moment of encouragement, or just someone else who understands the struggle — I hope you enjoy your time here. And you can always visit my Pinterest page as well for more product and ideas.
